Rule 8: Do not try to create and analyze at the same time

I started the new year by completing an online workshop on sketchbook development run by textile artist Dionne Swift . It was the first online creative course that I've experienced......and it was brilliant! Centred around a series of 7 short videos (about 10 minutes each), Dionne sets tasks that can be used to build a reference book of ideas : a process that can then be repeated for new projects.
For me, it was an opportunity to explore how I might build on my photographs ...perhaps by adding texture and moving from 2D to 3D in some way. Painful beginnings of a new direction, but I've now made a start. And it's confirmed something important. I need to let go and not overthink things.....I just need to do things and trust the process.
